What a day Peg and Richard had for their wedding at Chaparral Ranch! It was one of those perfect fall afternoons in Aspen—crisp air, golden leaves, and that soft, warm light you only get this time of year. Their ceremony took place right at their home on the ranch, an intimate setting surrounded by rolling hills and endless views. Just as they were about to say their vows, the wind picked up, bringing in a few dark clouds. For a minute, we all held our breath, wondering if we were about to get soaked. But just as quickly as it came, the storm passed, leaving behind a sense of magic and a ceremony none of us will ever forget.
Chaparral Ranch is truly one of Aspen’s hidden gems. Tucked away in Woody Creek, it’s this beautiful mix of wide-open ranch land and towering mountain views, making it the perfect setting for a wedding that feels both elegant and deeply connected to nature. After the ceremony, everyone moved into the reception space, which was flawlessly put together by Jen Hartley and her team at Aspen Event Solutions. They thought of every detail, making sure the whole day flowed effortlessly so Peg and Richard could just enjoy their moment. The tented reception felt warm and inviting, with twinkling lights and the kind of relaxed energy that makes a wedding unforgettable.
And then, as if the day couldn’t get any better, a rainbow stretched across the sky just before sunset. We rushed down to the lake, where Peg and Richard stood together, soaking it all in—the perfect way to end an already incredible day. Those portraits by the lake might be some of my favorites ever. Peg and Richard’s wedding was one for the books, a perfect blend of love, nature, and a little bit of weather-induced drama to keep things exciting.
