Getting Ready in Big Sky, Montana

320 Guest Ranch sits just outside Big Sky and offers historic log cabins with modern comfort. Because of that, the entire weekend felt intimate and relaxed. Friends and family stayed onsite, which made the morning feel calm instead of rushed.

The property itself is full of character. Wooden cabins, mountain backdrops, and wide-open skies create endless photo opportunities. As a wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to locations that feel authentic — and this ranch absolutely does.

A Private Yellowstone First Look

Before the ceremony, Leland and Charlie shared a private first look in Yellowstone National Park. They chose to exchange personal vows surrounded by sweeping landscapes and quiet stillness.

Not only did this create space for an emotional, uninterrupted moment, but it also added another layer of meaning to their Montana ranch wedding story. The contrast between Yellowstone’s dramatic terrain and the softness of their connection made these images especially powerful.

Meadow Portraits and Riverfront Ceremony

Back at 320 Guest Ranch, we wandered through the open meadows for portraits. At one point, they found a dandelion, made a wish, and laughed together. It was spontaneous and completely them.

Soon after, guests gathered beside the Gallatin River for the ceremony. The sound of flowing water added a natural calm to the space. Meanwhile, the mountains framed the scene in every direction.
